Multilateration and ADS-B in the Inn-Valley |

The is the narrow Inn-Valley in Tyrol / Austria with the Airport of Innsbruck which is surrounded by mountains reaching a height of up to 3000 meters. This critical terrain makes the operation of a radar impossible. During peak days in the tourist season a lot of charter aircraft approach Innsbruck airport but due to the lack of surveillance only a maximum of 15 aircraft can approach Innsbruck airport per day. To overcome this limitation Austro Control has installed a Wide
Area Multilateration System and ADS-B infrastructure. AviBit has
provided TIS-B server, Data Fusion and Controller Working Position
Display.
