AviBit releases its Digital Departure Clearance System DECLOS and signs a contract with Austro Control to provide it for Vienna Airport

August 10, 2007:

AviBit - a supplier for tower automation tools - has released its Digital Departure Clearance System DECLOS.

The system has successfully been tested at Vienna Tower and AviBit signed a contract with Austro Control to provide the system for its tower operation at Vienna Airport. The system will be operationally used from January 2008.

Dr. Thomas Leitner, the responsible product manager at AviBit highlights the key features of this system as follows:

  • Supports multiple simultaneous data link providers like SITA and ARINC

  • Fully compliant to EUROCAE ED-85 standard

  • Physical connection via X.25 or via TCP/IP (AviNet(TM) Connector)

  • Comprehensive Logging and Statistics

  • Stand alone version or tight integration with Electronic Flight Strips.

  • Fully automatic (without ATCO intervention) or manual operating mode

  • Flexible definition of optional free-text uplink messages to accomodate special airport procedures

The DECLOS product has open interfaces for easy integration with any existing Flightplan or Electronic Flight Strip Systems. It gives the controller a clear picture of which aircraft have already received the departure clearance automatically.

For Vienna Tower the system is coupled with the Electronic Flight Strip System DIFLIS which has also been provided by AviBit
